Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 2/3 cup Crisco
• 1% teaspoons salt
• 1% cups sugar
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 2 eggs
• 3 cups flour
• 1 orange, shred rind
• 1 tablespoon orange juice

Method

   Cream Crisco, sugar and eggs together.

   Mix and sift flour, salt and baking powder and add to first mixture.

   Add rind and juice and mix to a smooth dough.

   Chill.

   Roll out thin on floured board.

   Cut with cookie cutter.

   Bake in moderate oven (325) for 12 minutes.

   Makes about 60 cookies.
