SPICE CAKE. Take the whites of twenty-four eggs, two pints of white sugar, one and one-fourth pint of butter, four pints of flour with one table-spoonful of flour taken out of each pint, one level tea-spoonful of baking-powder in each pint of flour. Sift the flour several times ; add one table-spoonful of cin- namon, one table-sj)oonful of allspice, one grated nutmeg.
