So Am Drops

Ingredients

• t C. Butter or Shortening
• 14 C. Flour
• t tsp. Salt
• 4+ tsp. Vanilla
• 3/4 C. Brown Sugar
• tsp. Soda
• 1 Egg, beaten
• C. thick Sour Cream
• 24 doz. pitted Dates
• + C. chopped Walnuts

Method

1. 1

   Thoroughly cream shortening, vanilla and sugar.

   Add egg and beat well.

   Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with sour cream, stirring smooth after each addition.

   Stir in dates, stuffed with walnuts.

   Drop from spoon onto greased cookie sheet allowing one date to each cookie.

   Bake in 400° oven 10 mins.

   When cool, spread with golden icing.

   Makes 2.5 dozen.
