Rock Cakes

Ingredients

• One pound of flour
• Two eggs
• Six ounces of butter
• Six ounces of sugar
• Six ounces of currants
• A gill of milk
• One teaspoonful and a half of baking powder

Method

   Rub the butter into the flour, add the sugar, currants and baking powder.

   Beat up the eggs, add the milk to them, and stir it into the dry ingredients in a basin; mix well together.

   Put the mixture upon a greased baking sheet in small heaps, and bake in a quick oven for twenty minutes.
