Plain Raisin Cake

Ingredients

• 2 cups sugar
• 1 cup butter
• 1 cup milk
• SVz cups flour sifted
• 3 teasp baking powder
• 1 teasp cin- namon
• Vz teasp each cloves
• Vz teasp each allspice
• Vz teasp each nutmeg
• 1 cup seeded raisins
• some citron, If desired

Method

   Cream sugar with butter, add milk and flour sifted with baking powder, spices.

   Fold in raisins and citron.

   Makes one large cake or two loaves.
