Pickled Oysters

Ingredients

• the liquid from one hundred oysters
• half that amount of vinegar
• one tablespoon of whole black pepper
• one tablespoon of allspice

Method

   Boil the juice, vinegar, and spices together for ten minutes.

   Drop in the oysters, let them boil, then remove and cool the liquor before pouring it over the oysters.
