Peaches Royal

Ingredients

• 2 cups granulated sugar
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 1 cup water
• 1 cup wild strawberries
• V2 dozen fine ripe peaches
• 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
• 2 tablespoons brandy

Method

   Boil sugar and water for 5 minutes; pare and cut peaches in halves, cooking them briefly in syrup.

   Chill peaches in a glass dish.

   Mash berries, whip cream with powdered sugar and brandy, and combine lightly with berries to serve over peaches.
