Onions Stuffed with Nuts

Ingredients

• 2 large Spanish onions
• 1 cup boiled rice
• 1 cup chopped English walnut meats
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 saltspoon pepper
• 1 raw egg

Method

   Boil onions in water with half the salt for 30 minutes.

   Drain, dry, and remove centers.

   Mix nuts, rice, seasoning, and egg; fill onions.

   Brush with melted Crisco and bake for 30 minutes.

   Serve with tartare sauce made from the onion centers.
