Oatmeal Jelly Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter
• 1 cup lard
• 1 cup white sugar
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 8 tablesp hot water
• 1 teasp soda
• 6 cups oatmeal (3 put through the meat chopper — fine cut)
• 2 cups flour

Method

1. 1

   Cream butter and lard with sugars, add hot water in which soda is dissolved, then stir in oatmeal and lastly add flour.

   Roll, cut, and spread with filling.

   Filling: To 1 lb seeded and chopped raisins add sugar and a little water, boil until the consistency of jelly.
