Oatmeal Icebox Cookies

Ingredients

• 13 C. Shortening
• 2 C. Brown Sugar
• 2 Eggs
• 4 C, Flour
• 1 tsp. Soda
• 1 tsp. Cream of Tartar
• 2 C. Rolled Oats
• 1 C, Nuts

Method

   Mix shortening and sugar together.

   Add eggs and mix.

   Sift flour, soda and cream of tartar and add to first mixture.

   Add rolled oats and nuts and mix.

   This makes stiff dough.

   Form in loaves 1.5 to 2" in diameter.

   Wrap in waxed paper and chill.

   Slice thin and bake 15 minutes at 350°.
