Molasses Fruit Cake, Cheap

Ingredients

• 3 cups raisins— a pound
• 4 cups currants — a pound
• 1 small cup sugar— 6 ounces
• Same of butter.
• 1 large cup molasses— 12 ounces
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup sour milk and teaspoon soda
• 6 cups flour— 1^ pounds

Method

   Prepare raisins and currants by dusting them with flour.

   Mix all other ingredients and beat well, then add the fruit.

   Bake in a shallow pan or deep mold.

   Makes about 5 pounds.
