Lettuce Salad

Ingredients

• Take one pound lettuce
• one bunch dwarf celery
• about six green onions
• beat one egg
• about teaspoonful cornstarch or flour
• four or five tablespoonfuls sugar
• a pinch mustard
• salt and pepper to season
• cut fat bacon into cubes

Method

   Wash and crush lettuce.

   Chop celery and green onions fine, mix with lettuce.

   For dressing, beat egg, add cornstarch, sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper.

   Fry bacon until brown, pour dressing over, cook until thick, then pour over salad.
