Lemon Pie No. 1

Ingredients

• juice and grated rind of one lemon
• three-fourths of a cup of white sugar
• one cup of water
• four eggs, well beaten

Method

   Stir together the lemon juice and rind, sugar, and water; lastly, stir in the beaten eggs.

   Fill into crust and bake.

   For frosting, beat the reserved egg whites to a stiff froth with a tablespoonful of powdered sugar; spread over the top evenly and return to oven until slightly browned.
