Ginger Snaps with Buttermilk

Ingredients

• 1 cup lard
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 pt molasses
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1 tablesp soda
• 1 tablesp ginger
• enough flour to make a stiff dough

Method

   Mix lard with sugar, add molasses, buttermilk in which soda is dissolved, and ginger sifted with enough flour to make a stiff dough.

   Let stand overnight, roll thin, cut, and bake in a hot oven.
