GINGER CAKE. i Lb. Flour. 4 Ozs. Brown Sugar. 1 Teaspoonful Cinnamon. 2 Teaspoonfuls Baking Powder. 4 Ozs. Butter. 4 Ozs. Syrup. 2 Teaspoonfuls Ground Ginger. 2 Eggs. A Little Milk. Method. Beat butter and sugar to a cream ; mix syrup and spices, and warm ; mix flour and baking powder ; thoroughly mix all these ; beat eggs and add, with sufficient milk to bring to right consistency ; pour into cake tin lined with buttered paper ; bake in slow oven for about two hours.
