FRUIT JELLY. Break up an ounce of the best Russian~gum isinglass ; boil it until dissolved, in a pint of water ; add a quart of boiling water and white sugar (to sweeten it to taste) ; add lemon ; strain one-third of it into a deep bowl ; put it on ice or in water to harden ; when firm sprinkle a layer of berries or fruit already sweetened
