FAVORITE POUND CAKE 6 eggs + lb. country butter + cup shortening or margarine 3 cups sugar ltsp. vanilla extract ltsp. almond extract 3 cups sifted plain flour + tsp. baking powder pinch of salt l cup sweet milk Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and almond extract and blend well. Add eggs, one at a time, and contin- ue beating after each addition. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add alternately to creamed mixture with milk. Pour into a greased and floured large tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
