Effervescing Draught. — This is a cool- ing medicine for fever ; the carbolic acid gas in it also makes it acceptable to the stomach. It is composed on the following recipe : Dissolve two drachms and a half of bi- carbonate of potassium in four fluidounces of water. To make a draught, pour out a tablespoonful of this solution, and add to it a tablespoonful of water. Then pour into these a tablespoonful of fresh lemon-juice
