DELICATE CAKE. Flavor with vanilla or a few drops of bitter almonds. Cream the butter and sugar together until very light, then pour in the milk and flour, and beat well. Sprinkle the baking-powder over the beaten whites, and stir lightly through the batter. Bake for one and one-half hour in a moderate oven. When done, turn out on a clean towel to cool. ^[iss Lottie AVood. LADY CAKE. Two pounds of butter with the salt washed out, two and one-half pounds of powdered sugar, the whites of twelve eggs beaten very light, adding a portion of the eggs at a time until all are added.
