Curry Straws

Ingredients

• 4 oz. of self-raising flour
• 1 level teaspoonful of curry powder
• 1 level teaspoonful of dry mustard
• 1 level teaspoonful of salt
• 1 oz. cooking fat
• 4 oz. grated cheese
• a small teaspoonful chutney
• half a level dessert-spoonful dried egg

Method

   Sift together flour, curry powder, dry mustard, and salt.

   Add cayenne.

   Rub in cooking fat.

   Add grated cheese, chutney, and dried egg.

   Mix to a firm paste with cold water.

   Roll out about 4 inches thick.

   Brush with egg, sprinkle with salt and grated cheese.

   Cut into small fingers and bake on greased trays in a hot oven for 10-15 minutes.
