Ingredients

• 1 pt cornmeal
• 1 pt wheat flour
• 1 teasp salt
• 2 level teasp cream tartar
• 2 well-beaten eggs
• enough milk to make a soft batter
• 1 tablesp melted butter
• 1 level teasp soda

Method

   Mix cornmeal and wheat flour with salt and cream tartar.

   Add well-beaten eggs and enough milk to make a soft batter.

   Add melted butter and soda dissolved in warm water.

   Fry until golden brown on a hot griddle.
