Consomme Aux Diablotins. Cut a French roll into twelve slices one-quarter inch thick. Reduce about one-quarter pint of Bechamel * to a thick con- sistence; add two heaped tablespoonfuls of grated Gruyere cheese, and season with a little cayenne.
