Coffee Ginger Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup shortening
• 2 cups sugar
• 1 cup molasses
• 3 teasp soda
• 1 cup hot, black coffee
• 1 beaten egg
• 2 teasp vanilla
• flour enough to roll
• 3 teasp ginger

Method

   Mix shortening with sugar, add molasses, soda dissolved in coffee, then add egg, vanilla, salt, and flour sifted with ginger.

   Roll soft, cut, and bake.
