Two cups flour, half-cup molasses, one half-cup butter, one half-cup milk, two eggs, two cups of raisins, one teaspoonful of soda, half tea- spoonful each of cloves, cinnamon and allspice, half a nutmeg. CHESS CAKE. Yolks of ten eggs, two cups of sugar, one of butter, one-half cup of sweet milk; beat all together very lightly; flavor with lemon extract, and bake in rich crust, same as pies.
