Chocolate Pie

Ingredients

• one-half teacupful of chocolate
• one cupful of hot water
• butter the size of an egg
• one tablespoonful vanilla
• one cupful of sugar
• the beaten yolk of two eggi
• two tablespoon fu Is of cornstarch
• dissolved in a little water

Method

   Mix chocolate, hot water, butter, vanilla, sugar, beaten yolks, and dissolved cornstarch in a saucepan.

   Cook until thick, stirring constantly.

   Pour into a pie shell and let cool.

   Beat egg whites to a stiff froth, add powdered sugar, spread on top of pie, and slightly brown in the oven.
