Butterscotch Oat Bars

Ingredients

• 3 cups rolled oats
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 34 cup shortening or margarine (part butter)
• Pinch salt

Method

   Combine rolled oats, brown sugar and salt.

   Pour over them the melted butter and blend well.

   Pack into shallow baking pan, about 1-3 inch deep.

   Bake in moderate oven (350 F) for 15 minutes.

   Cut into squares immediately.

   Allow to stand in pan until hard and crisp.
