Butter Scotch Pie

Ingredients

• Two cups brown sugar
• two tablespoons flour
• butter size of an egg
• two and one-half cups boiling water
• yolks of two eggs

Method

   Mix brown sugar, flour, and butter together, then add boiling water and yolks of two eggs.

   Let this boil until thick, stirring all the time.

   Flavor to taste and pour into a pre-baked crust.

   Beat the whites of the eggs to a stiff froth, add a little sugar, spread over the top of the pie, and place in the oven to brown.
