Bread Pudding

Ingredients

• 1 e. stale bread crumbs
• 1-6 c. sugar
• 2 c. scalded milk
• $ tsp. salt
• 1 egg
• 2 ‘tbsp. butter (melted)
• x tsp. vanilla

Method

   Soak crumbs in milk until soft.

   Beat egg, add sugar and salt, and combine mixtures; add butter and vanilla.

   Turn into a buttered pudding dish, place in a pan of hot water, and bake in a moderate oven 1 hour.
