Bouquet Preservation Method

Ingredients

• a tablespoonful of carbonate of soda
• a pint of water
• a vessel containing soap-suds

Method

1. 1

   Mix a tablespoonful of carbonate of soda in a pint of water and place your bouquet in this solution to preserve the flowers for a fortnight.

   Sprinkle the bouquet lightly with fresh water, then put it in a vessel containing soap-suds.

3. 3

   Every morning, take the bouquet out of the suds and lay it sideways into clean water for a minute or two, then sprinkle lightly with water and replace it in the soap-suds.

   Change the soap-suds every three or four days.
