Biscuits, Oatmeal

Ingredients

• ½ lb. coarse oatmeal
• 4oz. flour
• 4oz. sugar
• 4oz. of butter
• a whole egg
• half a gill of water

Method

   Rub butter into the oatmeal, flour, and sugar, then mix into a stiff paste with the egg and water.

   Roll out thinly, prick with a fork, stamp out rounds, and bake for fifteen to twenty minutes in a moderate oven.
