Bird's Nest Pudding

Ingredients

• four nice apples
• cover them with bread crumbs
• a lump of butter size of an egg
• one-half cup of molasses
• one cup of raisins
• one cup of currants
• one tablespoonful of citron chopped fine
• the rind of an orange
• a half cup of sherry

Method

   Peel and slice apples, place in deep dish, cover with bread crumbs, add butter, molasses, raisins, currants, citron, orange rind, and sherry.

   Bake for half an hour and serve hot with hard sauce.
