Aunt Elinor's Cup Cake

Ingredients

• 1/4 cup butter
• 1 tablespoon lemon or vanilla
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 2 or 3 eggs
• 1 3/4 cup flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method

   Cream butter and sugar, add egg yolks, flavoring, then flour sifted with baking powder and milk, finally beaten whites of eggs last.

   Bake at 375° to 400°.

   Delicious as little cakes or as a loaf.

   Nuts or raisins or cocoanut good as variations.

   Add them lightly floured after cake is mixed.
