Place one or two pieces of apricot on the top of each with the cut side uppermost, lay on a few small pieces of butter, sprinkle with sugar, and bake in a moderate oven until the fruit is cooked and the bread nicely browned. When ready, sprinkle again with sugar and serve hot with cream
