4 ounces at a time is sufficient ; again it may be
necessary to use more. Usually an amount vary-

a time. They should be frequently repeated to do

spasms let up or stop. Then give an active cathar-
tic. Compound cath. pills are as good as anything,
giving 3 every 4 hours until bowels respond prop-
erly, repeating treatment upon the first signs of a
recurrence of the spasms ; and it is said that many
cures have been wrought in this manner.
