_ Raised Doughnuts. 1 cup sugar, 14 cup butter, 2 eggs, 1 pint
warm milk, 1 cup yeast, 14, teaspoon soda and the same of salt and
a dash of nutmeg✪ Raised Doughnuts. Crean butter and sugar, then add the eggs and
other ingredients. Mix with flour like soft bread dough and let
raise over night. In the morning turn out on flour board, roll 14
inch thick, cut into rings and let rise again until very light. Fry
in hot lard and turn often. Sprinkle with sugar.

Let boil and thicken with % tablespoons cornstarch, 3 eggs, 34, cup

separately and mix thoroughly.

Mocha Cake. 1 egg, two-thirds cup sugar, 2 inch squares of
chocolate, 2 inch cubes butter, 114 cups flour, two-thirds cup water
or milk, 2 teaspoons baking powder✪ Mocha Cake. Cream or beat very well the
butter, sugar and egg, add water and flour sifted with the baking
powder. Beat all together and lastly add the melted chocolate.
Bake in a moderate oven. Mocha Icing—114 cups powdered sugar,
1 square chocolate melted, 3 teaspoons coffee (not too strong), 3
teaspoons melted butter, enough sweet milk to make it spread.
