FIsH IS MUCH MORE DELICIOUS when soaked for a few minutes before cooking in a strong solution of Worcester Salt. Try it the next time you prepare fish. Incidentally, to prevent the fish from slipping from the fingers while cleaning it dip your fingers in salt. Poppinc popcorn. When popping popcorn try covering the bottom of the pan with salt instead of butter or grease. Heat the salt and put in your popcorn and you will find that it pops beautifully. You only require a very low flame to keep the double-boiler boiling. How To PREVENT SPLASHING WHEN FRYING. A little salt sprin- kled in the pan before putting in the food will prevent splashing when frying meat. BUTTER MAY BE KEPT HARD WITHOUT ICE by placing the butter dish in another one containing cold salt water. How TO CRACK NUTS PROPERLY. Meats will come out whole from nuts when you soak them in salt water overnight before cracking. -'To CLEAN DRAINS. Sinks and drains can be kept free from erease and disagreeable odors by pouring a strong solution of hot water and salt through them once a week. How SALT GAN HELP YOU ON wAsH DAY. Add a handful of salt to the last water on wash day and the clothes will not stick to the line in frosty weather. If clothes pins are boiled in a salt water solution before using they will last longer and will not freeze on the clothes when it is cold. A handful of salt in the rinsing water will keep bluing from streaking clothes in winter. Incidentally, when washing colored fabrics a little salt in the water will prevent the colors from running. 3 MISCELLANEOUS HOME USES CUT FLOWERS KEEP LONGER when a pinch of Worcester Salt is added to the water in which the flowers are placed. To AVOID A RING AFTER CLEANING WITH GASOLINE. Rub spots on washable goods with a strong solution of Worcester Salt before applying gasoline. FREEZE ICE CREAM QUICKLY by using Worcester Quick Freezing Ice Cream Salt. It saves time and work—and there’s no waste. Pack the freezer with one part Worcester Quick Freezing Ice Cream Salt to three parts of crushed ice. While packing, turn the handle slowly in order to shake down and pack the ice. After the ice cream is frozen pour off the brine and pack with more ice and salt mixture. Note: Worcester Quick Freezing Ice Cream Salt also gives splendid results in Vacuum Freezers. DISCOLORATION ON THE INSIDE OF THE COFFEE POT is often removed by rubbing with a little Worcester Salt. Also salt in the oven under baking tins may prevent their scorching on the bot- tom. The pudding will cool more quickly if its container is placed in a dish of cold water to which a quantity of salt has been added. °° 59:
