2 ripe tomatoes, 1 oz. of nut butter, 1 teaspoonful brown
sugar, seasoning to taste✪ Baked Beans. 3
Soak the beans for about 12 hours. Drain and put into
a stewpan with enough wiier to cover and a little salt.
Cook slowly till nearly tender, then transfer them into
a fireproof pot or casserole. Add the MARMITE gravy,
the golden syrup, nut butter, sugar, and the onion and
tomatoes, peeled and chopped with seasoning to taste.
Cover the casserole and cook’ slowly in a fairly
hot oven for an hour or more. Serve in the cas-
serole, as hot as possible.
NUT ROAST.
1 Ib. peeled and chopped walnuts, % lb. bread-
crumbs, 1 small peeled and chopped onion
(blanched), 1 dessertspoonful chopped parsley, 2
oz. nut butter, MARMITE gravy, seasoning to
taste✪ Nut Roast:
